Father's Day 2011

Father's Day....such a great day to celebrate our Dads. We spent the day with family at my parents house and then with some quality time at home. I was so grateful to spend time with my Dad whom I love....even more so watching how much my kids love their Papa.

But most importantly, I love a day that celebrates my kids dad...because he's pretty much awesome. I'm grateful to have him and it fills my heart with joy to watch him with our kids. Their love for him is unparalleled.

Daddy and Gavin.
Closest I got to a good pic of Daddy with these two.
Daddy's little princess through and through.
Grandpa Tom and all his pants-less peanuts.
Presents for Daddy.
Gavin's special card he made for dad at school.
Not sure who is more excited about their special books for Daddy.
She is too cute.
I want to wipe off her face....and then eat her. :)
Syd and Daddy.
Gavin being silly...while there is tickling in the background.

Done With You

So lately Gavin has come up with a new catch phrase when he's angry "I'm done with you!!!" Usually this is said through gritted teeth, arms crossed and angry face. I couldn't figure out where he had gotten this from and he knew exactly when to use it!

Then I thought back to some of the things I say to the kids:

"I am DONE with the whining."
"I am DONE with this attitude."
"I am DONE with you not listening to mommy."
and simply, " I AM DONE!"

Hmm....didn't take long to figure out where he picked up this one from.

Touch a Truck

Touch A Truck came to Frankfort...and of course we had to go check it out! The kids loved climbing in all the trucks, pushing buttons and pretend driving. Great way to spend a Saturday morning! It goes without saying how much we loved "Papa's trucks" the most.

Glimpse into the future.

He is so excited in the ambulance....I walked away and when I came back he was laying on the stretcher! Yikes!

A dynamite police team. Ha!

He looks like a natural (Lord help me!).

Visit with the Leonards

Just after school was out, Carrie came down for a few days with the kids. She arrived on Tuesday and we convinced her (wooing her with the zoo) to stay until Thursday. It was so fun having such a busy household for a few days. On Friday morning, my kids woke up and didn't know what to do with peace and quiet and no friends to play with! I always love spending time with Carrie and her kids and this was no exception!
Taylor the gladiator!
Sidewalk Chalk.
Love the artwork that summer brings!
Everyone was just swinging and playing.
Little Lo-Lo.
Sydney hamming it up.
Taylor showing off her skills.
Zach getting ready to climb to the top.
Best buddies (geez, doesn't my kid's mom own a brush?)
Traffic jam.
I Heart Them. So So Much.
And them.
Flying kites with Uncle Chad/Daddy.
Rub a Dub Dub--4 little munchkins in the tub!
Chaos ensued.
During naptime Carrie and I got our craft on.
It was pretty productive!
Every good visit involves a little wrestling.
And they all got in on the action.
Zach taking his turn on the trampoline.
Up to no good.
Headed to the zoo on Thursday morning!
Taylor was SO excited about the zoo. We had a map at home that she pored over the night before and the morning of making sure to inform us of EVERY animal she wanted to see. And trust me, we were seeing them all. :)
Giraffes.
Me and the kids.
Carrie and her kids -- unfortunately, best pic I have.
Up close and personal.
How Tay measures up against a bison.
My wings are this big!
Looking for Nemo!
All five cute kiddos.
BFFs.
Seriously, these two are one of a kind.
Love her.
Gavin and the walrus.
We actually saw the tiger up on the move!
Happy to see lions and tigers and bears! Oh My!
So cute.
So pooped.
