One more pic on our balcony.
Saying goodbye to my favorite thing about this leg of our trip--relaxing afternoons on the patio with a beautiful view, wine, snacks, snoozes and my hubby.
Our "beam me up scottie" shower. It was so claustro.
POMPEII!!!
All of this was buried by a volcano and trapped in time back in 79 A.D.
The forum/city center.
Temple of Jupiter
Plaster casts of victims found from the volcano.
A dog.
Praying victim.
The streets of Pompeii - you could actually see the grooves from the chariots.
Standing in front of what would have been a "fast food" store front.
The ruts in the streets.
Pompeii was home to 10,000-20,000 people and is the largest archeological dig site in the world.
Standing in what was a home.
Bed of stone in a brothel.
So many frescoes were still in tact.
Soaking up the history of Pompeii on our last day.
Can't even describe the magnitude of this place.
The "small" amphitheater.
Chad & I.
The streets of Naples - Spaccanapoli
A more accurate depiction of the streets of Naples.
When exploring a cathedral, we saw a real Italian wedding!
Interesting facade on the front of a church.
Our overall opinion of Naples.
The stairway into our hotel. Awesome.
Our hotel room view.
This just describes Naples - disgusting, dirty, graffitti, shady, smelly and full of garbage piles everywhere!
The Castel dell'Ovo -oldest castle in Naples (closed when we tried to go).
Some big palace that was definitely not worth the Euros it cost us to go through it.Inside the palace.Final night...Mt Vesuvius in the background.Me and the hubs - ending our 10 day 10 year anniversary get away.Chad on the bay where we at dinner.Love him. Love this trip. Don't love Naples.
Our room in Naples - in the city center (not recommended) where people party in the streets all night long and you have to keep your windows open b/c city ordinance doesn't allow hotels to turn the air on until June. What!?!? Awful.
Although this was the ceiling--pretty sweet.
